Based on candid interviews with former members of the elite Special Forces unit, this four-part documentary series reveals the human experience of serving in the S.A.S. featuring dramatic reconstructions and the inside story of the service.
EPISODE 2
UNDERCOVER
Colin Maclachlan, a former SAS operative, describes a harrowing mission he undertook in Iraq in 2005, in the immediate aftermath of Saddam Hussein’s capture.
What should have been a simple mission to deliver security agents to Kuwait went dangerously awry when Maclachlan’s cover was blown. He and a colleague were taken hostage, and faced an intense period of captivity punctuated by mock executions and mob violence.
Machlachlan’s own account is interspersed with dramatic reconstructions to illustrate some of the horrors the ex-serviceman faced behind enemy lines, as brutal gangs and radical groups caused Basra to descend into chaos.
